Dear colleagues!

We invite you to take part in the 5th Russian National Joint Conference «Information Society Technologies - Internet and Modern Society» (IST/IMS-2002). The conference is to be held on November 25-29, 2002 in St.Petersburg State University, St.Petersburg, Russia.

The conference will be carried out in collaboration with the Bodies of the Authorized Representative of the Russian Federation's President in the North-Western federal district within the framework of “The North-West Internet Forum” - the most representative event dedicated to the information technologies in the North-West of Russia

Joint Conference comprises three conferences organised by St.Petersburg State University together with the Department of government information of the Bodies of the Government of the Russian Federation, The Institute of Information Society Development and Russian Association of political science and is supported by Russian Foundation for Basic Research.

The scientific conference «INTERNET AND MODERN SOCIETY» includes the following sections:

Internet impact on social, economical and political processes in modern society;
Internet as information media for science;
Internet as a global media for permanent education;
Libraries, culture and art in the Internet.

The scientific conference «INTERNET AND MODERN SOCIETY» includes the following sections:

The distributed video-conference «INFORMATION SOCIETY TECHNOLOGIES - RUSSIA» is to be carried out in collaboration with the Institute of Information Society Development. The following distant sites are planed to participate in the conference: Moscow, Yaroslavl, Novgorod, Krasnodar and Petrozavodsk.

All-Russian scientific conference “e-Government in the Information Society: Theory and Practice”.

The conference is carried out together with the Department of government information of the Bodies of the Government of the Russian Federation, The Institute of the Information Society Development and Russian Association of political science. The conference includes the following sections:

e-Government: conceptions and models;
e-Government technologies.

Refereed papers will be published.

PAPERS SUBMISSION INFORMATION

Deadline: October 15, 2002.
The text should not exceed 5 Kb.

Please, arrange the papers to be published in accordance with the following demands:

Title (small letters)
Authors (surname, name)
Institution
City, country

The text should be followed by the full name, position, institution, tel./fax/e-mail of all authors (this information will be published in the Proceedings of the conference), name of a speaker.

The paper must be accompanied by an ABSTRACT (the text without title and names of the authors should not exceed 100 words).

REGISTRATION FEE

Registration fee is $200 and should be paid during registration on November 25, 2002 in roubles.

Registration fee doesn’t include accommodation and meals.
