THE COMPUTER CATALOGUE OF THE KUNSTKAMERA MUSEUM COLLECTIONS AND PERSPECTIVES OF THE INTERNET-SHARED ANTHROPOLOGICAL DATABASE

The project has been developing to 1) organize museum documentation and storage routine on an up-to-date level. 2) provide free access via the Internet to scientific and inquiry information.

Data layout was designed to satisfy all museum departments, which deal with various branches of cultural and biological anthropology. It could be acceptable for formal description of any anthropological collection.

The client-server technology was used in system architecture. The web part is based on dynamic web pages. Multi-aims and multi-conditions search through the database is available.

XML integration will allow to offer for the Internet-community a way of anthropological collections description in standard "XML Schema", which let to personalize the information and its representation depending on the user will, client programs etc. Such approach could be the way to integrate computer DB-projects developing in different museums and institutions in common Internet anthropological information space.
