Successful functioning in the Internet economy requires leveraging the electronic tools at our disposal from a human resources viewpoint.

As with the introduction of any new technology to the workplace, some obstacles occur. Many of the tools associated with web development are new therefore the training may be needed for everyone. Adequate training and government programmes must be provided to the new sector of the economy.

One of the most significant challenges facing the Internet economy today is the justification of the costs associated with the search and implementation of high quality human resources. Most organisations already have a policy of cost justifying any new technology, and today's tight economy dictates that this may be done for every new investment of this nature.
