The paper presented is an attempt to give an overview and some sort of classification of the Internet studies methods and procedures. The overview embraces methods and procedures of: 1) studies of the level and trends of technical the Internet development (number of hosts and domains, quality and capacity of Internet backbone lines, number of computers with the Internet access, extent to which different types of the Internet connection have spread, etc.); 2) the Internet content studies (Internet filling volume, number of sites, classification of the Internet resources, presence and number of sites on different themes, content evaluation); 3) the Internet audience studies (size, different types, social and demographic characteristics of the Internet users, their preferences, opinions and predilections, the Internet resources rating).
